The present study was undertaken in Parbhani, Nanded and osmanabad districts of Marathwada region. From these selected districts, two talukas in each district on the basis of earlier establishment of 'agricultural polyclinics' were selected and two 'agricultural polyclinics' from each district were selected on the basis of same principle. From each list of polyclinic beneficiary, 25 respondents were drawn by nth method of random sampling. Thus final sample comprised of 150 respondents. A substantial percentage (58.00 %) of the respondents were of middle aged. As regards education a significant (37.33 %) per cent of the respondents were possessing higher secondary level of education. 33.33 per cent had farming as main occupation, 59.33per cent were having semi medium size of land holding with an annual income of medium category (57.33 %) having medium level of social participation (63.33%) and medium risk orientation (69.33 %). Majority of the respondents (81.34 %) had medium contacts and medium economic motivation (73.34 %). Two top most constraints expressed by the respondents were lack financial support from 'agricultural polyclinic' and not undergoing any training or demonstration of high tech agriculture based on shed net, green house and low cost green house.Keywords

The study was carried out to know the impact of FFS on knowledge of respondents and its relation with their profile. It is found that majority of the respondents had medium level of knowledge followed by high level of knowledge of cotton production technology. All of them had knowledge about selection of land for cultivation of cotton, importantance of soil testing before sowing and use of improved variety of cotton. Regarding relational analysis variables like education, rural socio-economic status, mass media exposure, extension contact, scientific orientation of risk preference were having positive and significant relationship with knowledge of cotton production technology. From regression analysis, it was found that education, size of land holding, rural socio-economic status extension contact and risk preference had sufficient contribution to knowledge of cotton production technology. Statistical tools like frequency, percentage, correlation coefficient and multiple regression were used for analysis.Keywords

The study was conducted in Nanded district of Maharashtra state to know the profile of Bt cotton growers and to find out relationship of characteristics of Bt cotton growers with adoption of Bt cotton production technology. From the study it was found that majority of the Bt cotton growers had 12 to 26 years of farm experience, educated up to Middle School, medium land holding, medium level of annual income, medium sources of information use, medium level of social participation, medium risk preference and middle socio-economic status. Education, land holding, annual income, sources of information use, social participation, risk preference and socio-economic status were positively and significantly related with the adoption of Bt cotton production technology. While, education, land holding, annual income and risk preference had substantial contribution to the adoption of Bt cotton production technology.Keywords
